Yagura, the stylishly casual new Izakaya Japanese restaurant of Eaton Hotel, has recently taken a step further with its creativity to deliver an interactive cooking simulation game, which is ready to ride on the popularity of the best-selling NDS game “Cooking Mama”.

As the first hotel restaurant in Hong Kong to launch a customized game on the online platform, Yagura shakes up the traditional marketing campaign by creating a series of mini games for players to master the excellent cooking skills of Yagura’s seasoned chefs in the virtual world, taking steps to complete the making of some of the signature dishes, from Salmon Roll, Live Prawn Tempura, Wagyu Beef, Udon to Pumpkin Soft Pancake.

Fun and rewarding, the Yagura cooking game will rank the players’ performance in each level and different exclusive complimentary Yagura offers will be offered to those who meet the required scores and condition. In additional, the player who gets the highest scores in each month will be awarded with a sumptuous grand prize – one night accommodation in a Deluxe Room with set dinner for two at Yagura with a total value of more than $3,000 – which promises a truly unique experience.

Featured on the most popular social networking site “Facebook”, Yagura cooking game invites players to interact with each other, like sending virtual Yagura’s delicacies to friends, challenging with them and other players around the world in the game.

Well, well, well… What do you know… A “Cooking Mama” type of game on Facebook. Great for those who misses their DS or Wii when out at work now you have something to test your “cooking” skills! Never mind about the grand prize, the grand prize giveaway date was from August to October 2008 and the restaurant is in Hong Kong which happens to be 1 of my favourite countries for shopping! I wonder if any of the restaurants in Singapore might be doing the same thing as it’s pretty cool to earn dining vouchers just by playing games! Choose which dish you want to test your skills by clicking on the small “Play” or the food picture and you will see the following instruction screen before you start.

Take note that scores will only be given with every completed dish of 2 tempura prawns in each dish and also based on the quality of the prawns. So once the prawns turn golden brown, move them to the dish immediately as they turn “bad” easily and holding it in mid air is just as bad as leaving them in the oil. Wanna know a little secret? To unlock more games isn’t that hard, you can keep sending an invite to the same friend. As long as your friend doesn’t get mad at you or accept your invite, they actually give points for each invite you send even if you are spamming your poor friend!
